FELINE RESCUE

Every year there are millions of abandoned animals in the United States alone. Many of them end up in shelters where their lives are cut short because there is not enough room for them all. Many of them end up on the street where they are forced to fend for themselves. They don't last long either.

Two of my four cats were dumped in my neighborhood because they were no longer wanted. Moochy and Geoffy were lucky. They found someone (me) who would take them in and give them a loving home for the rest of their lives. My other two, Punky and Taffy, would most likely have ended up in a shelter had I not adopted them. Their previous owner was moving and didn't want to take them along. They had been declawed and were a year old. They weren't likely candidates for adoption.

None of my four were properly socialized. They are very distrustful of humans and stranger in particular. Through patience, love, and persistence, I have come to know these four wonderful cats. They are always wary of strangers and they take longer to get to know people, but once they know you, they are very affectionate. I would never have had the pleasure of sharing my life with them had I not been willing to adopt unwanted older cats. (Moochy and Geoffy were also mature. She was nine months old and he was a year old.)

Please give these wonderful animals a chance at a happy and healthy life.
