ANIMAL CRUELTY

Every year millions of animals are victims of cruelty.

Animal cruelty comes in many forms.
Many people don't realize that having a pet is a huge responsibility. It requires a long term commitment. Please make sure that you are willing and able to make that commitment before adopting a pet.

Using animals to test products is deplorable. Product testing should be done on humans who choose to be part of it, not on animals who have no choice in the matter. The animals are most often subjected to quantities that no human would be exposed to anyway. Help stop animal testing by not purchasing products that advocate animals testing.

You can help stop physical abuse by keeping your pet indoors, rather than letting him/her roam. Keeping him/her inside ensures that he/she will not become the victim of some cruel practical joke or the victim of someone who feels the need to make up for his/her inadequacies by torturing a defenseless animal.

There are a large number of kitten and puppy mills in the United States. They are most of ten run by people who are only interested in making money. As a result, the animals suffer. They live in disgusting and unsanitary conditions. They are often surrounded by feces and do not have access to food or water.

You can be a major factor in eradicating animal cruelty. Report any abuse that you see or suspect to the authorities, your local animal shelter, and the humane society. Knowing your state laws will help too. Please visit Lisa Violet's Animal Cruelty Laws to learn how your state handles this issue. You can also find information about improving your state's animal cruelty laws at some of the links I have listed below.
